RL Moel further told that Chandel district has been included among the aspirant districts of India and various union ministers has been visiting the district to review the developmental works being taken up. However, Thorchang Village under the Chakpikarong sub division of Chandel district has not seen electricity since 2015 after the HT line was cut off in a storm.

He added that the transformer installed has been cover up with bushes and the people particularly the students and the elders are facing inconveniences in the absence of electricity.
