State heading towards development, Chief Minister at Rashtriya Ekta Diwas observation

Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said that Manipur is heading forward towards development including improvement in connectivity with other States, and further appealed to the public to join hands and work together for further development of the State.
The Chief Minister was addressing the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas observation at 1st Bn. Manipur Rifles Parade Ground today.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister expressed his desire to witness seriousness of all State government officials especially high ranking officers during such observations.
N. Biren Singh stated that Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is observed from 2014 every year on 31st October to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India. He continued that every citizen of the country should know the importance of the observance. He said as Indians we all should take such national observations with all seriousness.
He observed that we have been able to live a life with dignity and honour, only because of being citizens of India and born in the State of Manipur. As such we should have the highest honour for our country and birthplace, he added.
Today, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi is revered across the world as a world leader because of the respect he and his works are shown by the people of the country, the Chief Minister said.
The Chief Minister said that the Atmanirbhar Bharat scheme under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has imbibed self confidence in every Indian. Under the initiative, the Country has made many developmental strides, he said, highlighting laying of foundation for aircraft manufacturing facility at Gujarat, export of fighter planes to other countries, and launching of commercial satellites, among others.
The Chief Minister also highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s virtual speech at the recently held “Chintan Shivir” on internal security and drugs related border management held at Surajkund, Haryana under the initiative of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He said that the Prime Minister had emphasised that we have to be very careful because those trying to disintegrate and destabilise the country are not only insurgents, terrorists and naxalites but there are also many intellectuals and Non-profit organizations which are operating under foreign funding to disintegrate the country and its States.
He also spoke on the huge amount of illegal drug trafficking to the country from neighbouring countries, adding that many foreign countries are trying to destabilize the peaceful condition of our country.
N. Biren Singh also emphasized that Central leaders are taking the issues of States very seriously, as any problems related to security and other reasons affect the whole country. He maintained that the ways of tackling and solving issues related to Northeastern States had changed as the Central leaders always think for the welfare of its people. He appreciated the Union Home Minister’s approach to UG groups asking them to come back to the mainstream.
Further in his speech, the Chief Minister narrated the role of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel during India’s freedom struggle and integration of Indian States after attainment of Independence. One of the precious gifts to the Country was his role in integration of Provinces and Princely States, under the Indian Independence Act 1947, to make a united and strong India, the Chief Minister added.
The Chief Minister also thanked all the armed force personnel posted in the State for their tireless services rendered for the security of the State.
Chief Minister N. Biren Singh inspected the March Past Parade and also administered the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge for all attending the function.
The March Past Parade led by Parade Commander Dy CO 2nd MR N. Suraj Singh was participated by contingents of BSF, CRPF, Combined Manipur Rifles Male, Combined IRB Male, Civil Police Imphal West Male, Civil Police Imphal East Male, 9th IRB Mahila, NCC Boys and NCC Girls.
Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha Maharaj Leishemba Sanajaoba, Ministers, MLAs, Chairman of Boards & Corporations, Chief Secretary, Deputy General of Police, Civil and Police officers, among others attended the function.
On the other hand, as a part of the Observance Unity Run programme was held at Thoubal district. Deputy Commissioner, Thoubal A. Subhash Singh IAS, SP Thoubal Jogeshchandra Haobijam, IPS, Manipur Police personnel, staffs of different departments, Volunteers of NYK Thoubal and students of various colleges participated in the unity run. Human chain were also formed as part of the Observation. Deputy Commissioner, Thoubal, SP Thoubal, District level Officers, NYK volunteers and school students participated in the Human Chain formation. 
Earlier, floral tributes were paid to Sardar Vallabhai Patel led by Deputy Commissioner,Thoubal A. Subhash Singh IAS at the DC office Complex Thoubal.
The district administration of Tengnoupal also observed Rastriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) at district headquarter, Machi and Moreh sub division today.
Ranjan Yumnam led in paying homage and garlanding to photograph of Sardar Vallabhai Patel. The gathering which includes DLOs, staff, students and public form human chain and read out Unity pledge at DC Office complex.
As a part of the observance, Ranjan Yumnam, DC flagged off the Unity Run from the district headquarter and the run was also organised in Machi and Moreh sub- divisions. The Unity Run was participated by officers and staff of the district administration, police department, students of educational institutions including colleges and the public in the district. 
At Pherzawl District, a Unity Run was organised in schools under ZEO Pherzawl.
On the occasion, ZEO Pherzawl district HemchandYumnam said Pherzawl District joined the rest of the state in observing the event. He added altogether 16 Schools in different parts of the district with a total of 850 participated in the Unity Run.
At Churachandpur, District Administration observed the Rastriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) at Mini-Secretariat Campus, Churachandpur to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Rastriya Ekta Diwas is observed with an aim to foster and reinforce the dedication of the people to preserve and strengthen unity, integrity and security of the nation by re-enforcing the value of a strong and united India.
As part of the programme, Sharath Chandra Arroju, Deputy Commissioner, DLOs, students and other participants paid floral tribute to the portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the unifier of Modern India at Mini-Secretariat premises today morning.
District Administration of Bishnupur observed Rashtriya Ekta Diwas across Bishnupur today to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel – ‘The Iron Man of India’. Deputy Commissioner Lourembam Bikram led the gathering at the Conference Hall of Mini Secretariat complex in paying rich floral tributes at the portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The DC also administered Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge to the participants comprising of DLOs and Staff of district administration.
