A PGT teacher of Jawarhar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Chandel is critically injured after a student studying in the same school stabbed him three times at his abdomen.
The incident took place at around 2 pm this afternoon inside the school premises. The injured teacher has been identified as LC Alex Panmei, PGT teacher of Social Studies while the student who stabbed his teacher has been identified as Takhellambam Vivek of Class XII. It is said that Alex Panmei was inside his official quarter when the student stabbed him.
According to school authority, Takhellambam Vivek, who stabbed the teacher, was expelled from the school yesterday for using intoxicants.
The condition of the injured teacher is critical and has been evacuated to RIMS hospitals after giving first aid at a clinic in Chandel.
