TC Foundation congratulates Team Boong on BAFTA 2026 Award

The Television and Cine Foundation Manipur has extended its congratulations to the team of the Manipuri film Boong, which won the Best Children & Family Film award at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards 2026. The award was announced on Sunday night.
In a press release, the Foundation expressed immense pride and happiness over the achievement, stating that the recognition marks a significant milestone not only for Manipuri cinema but also for Indian regional filmmaking. It noted that Boong has successfully showcased the rich culture, storytelling tradition and cinematic excellence of Manipur on the global stage.
The Foundation conveyed its heartfelt congratulations to the film’s director, Lakshmipriya Devi, along with the entire cast and crew for their dedication, creativity and hard work in securing the prestigious honour. It described the success as an inspiration for aspiring filmmakers and artists across the region.
