Imphal, May 16: A member of the special investigation team that had probed the BT Road firing incident of July 27, 2009 has testified in his disposition that none of the staff of Tehelka including editor Tarun Tejpal and correspondent Teressa Rehman provided any detailed information regarding the photographs of police personnel escorting Sanjit into a shop among others which were published by the magazine in its August 8 and August 15 issues of the same year. In his disposition submitted today before the, inspector Konjengbam Chandrasekhar of Moirang Patlou Leikai stated that he accompanied IGP Clay Khonsai who was then the SP of Bishnupur to Delhi to record the statements of Tejpal and chief executive officer of the magazine Shoma Chowdhuri in connection with case. Chandrasekhar said he recorded the statements of the two persons and then worked in tandem with IGP Khongsai in putting up the questions. He stated that he interviewed correspondent Teressa Rehman too in Guahati but maintained that none of three gave any details about the photographs. Chadrasekhar was one of the SIT team originally handed over task of investigating into the incident. The team was led by additional SP, S Chaoba, and co-opted inspector Babuyaima. The CBI took over the case from the SIT later. The recording of the interviews were handed over to the CBI at the time of transferring of the case, he informed.
