LAMKA, Jul. 09: The Joint student bodies of Hmar Students Association, Thadou Kuki Students Union and Kuki Students Organiation today condemned the attempt to set ablaze one of the dispensing units of Tuibuong Services station on the night of July 08,2014 by some hooligans, who intentionally doused the adjoining area of the Diesel dispensing unit with petrol fuel, before setting it on fire.
The Join student bodies said that had it not been for the timely intervention, with the strong sense of community and the spirit of oneness displayed by the brave residents of Tuibuong locality in putting out the fire, and said the inferno would have gone out of control and could have reduced not only the petrol pump but a large area of the district headquarters and beyond the embers. The extent of the calamity would have been unthinkable, its added.
The student bodies said, such an irresponsible and cowardly act could be the handiwork of a very sick and depraved minds, who give no credence to civility laws, society and civilization as a whole.
” It is demand that the district administration should arrest the culprits within a period of three days, failure to do so the student bodies will compel to take recourse to any means they consider appropriate”, they warned.
