57 state security personnel have received counter insurgency and anti terrorism training

Imphal, July 9: The Counter Insurgency and Anti- Terrorism (CIAT) School, which was established at Jiribam in Imphal East is in the verge of total collapse after the Finance Department of the government of Manipur has failed to release remuneration for instructors who were selected by the state Home department in 2011.
The Counter Insurgency and Anti- Terrorism (CIAT) School was established to train the state security force to impart special skill to counter insurgency movement in the state in August 2011. At that time the Home department of the state government had selected one retired army office, 6 retired Junior Commission Officers (JCOs) and 12 retired non commission officers from among the ex-servicemen of Manipur to train the state security personnel in Counter –Insurgency and Anti-Terrorism operation. The selected instructors started their engagement since June 18, 2012.
The first batch of CIAT training for the police, IRB and Manipur Rifles personnel were carried out from August 1, 2013 to October 12, 2013. A total numbers of 57 personnel were trained as per the training syllabus desired by the state police force and Union Home Ministry (Bureau of police research and development ) , New Delhi.
A reliable source reveals that the instructors was paid their two months remuneration (August- September, 2013). However, since then the state finance department has not released any further remuneration for the instructors. The source further added that after the 1st batch training no further training has been taken place in the CIAT School.
