State to have Film and TV Institute

Good news for film lovers of the state, the union Ministry of Broadcasting has finally accepted the state government proposal for establishing of a Film and Television Institute in the state. Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam who is presently staying at New Delhi for attending a Congress Party meeting will meet the Minister for Information and broadcasting Prakash Javadekar to discuss the matter. A source said that an expert team of the ministry of Information and Broadcasting is schedule to visit the state to take stock of the site for opening of the Film and Television Institute. If established, Manipur will be the 2nd institute in Eastern India after West Bengal to have a Film and TV institute.
