A one-day state-level seminar on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and the Indian National Army (INA) was jointly organized today at the INA Martyrs’ Memorial Complex, Moirang. The event was hosted by the INA War Museum-cum-Netaji Library, Department of Art & Culture, Government of Manipur, INA Advisory Committee, and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Kumbi College, Kumbi.
The seminar was attended by distinguished guests, including Manipur University Vice-Chancellor Prof. N. Lokendra Singh, Prof. O. Ranjit Singh, Head of the Department of Archaeology & Ancient History, MU Canchipur, and retired principal of Moirang College, A. Saratchandra Sharma.
Speaking at the event, Prof. Lokendra Singh emphasized that history is not merely a record of the past but a field that evolves with deeper research and analysis. He stressed the importance of studying authentic historical documents to ensure accurate historical narratives and prevent misinterpretation.
As part of the program, the INA War Museum-cum-Netaji Library, Department of Art & Culture, also released a special wall calendar. Additionally, 13 research scholars presented papers on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s role in India’s freedom movement and the impact of the INA. The event was attended by students and faculty members from various colleges and schools across Manipur, providing them with valuable insights into the historical significance of the INA’s contributions.
