Even as the Okram Ibobi Singh led Congress government had assured to frame a law to check the influx of illegal migrants in the state, there is no way that the state government tabled the prepared bill during the ongoing state assembly session which will continue till tomorrow.
According to source, the speaker of the state assembly has directed the Chief security officer of the state assembly to strengthen security at all the entry of the state assembly secretariat in the wake of the threats to intensify agitation by JCILPS. The Chief Security officer of the state assembly had requested the BSF to deploy more security force and to alert at all the entry to the state assembly – that is at the gate No. 1. Gate No. 2 and Gate No. 3. Besides state home department had also directed the state police to remain alert to foil any agitation attempt by JCILPS.
Press confirmed that there will be no passing or discussion of the Inner line permit bill as MLA I Ibohalbi today drew the attention of the house to make an arrangement for introduction of the bill after the Yaosang Festival. The ongoing assembly session will conclude tomorrow.
