State force swings into action

Imphal, Jan 11: Following the tense situation in Tengnoupal district in the aftermath of the killing of two villagers by suspected rebel groups belonging to NSCN-IM, Manipur police swung into action to flush out anti social elements in various part of Tengnoupal district.
Source, said that a team of state police Commandos are currently engaging in counter insurgency operation in certain part of Tengnoupal  district. At around 7.30 am today, the state police commando team carried out cordon and search operation at K. Tuisen Village, Tengnoupal district after they got specific report about the presence of UGs. As of now there are no reports of any arrest.
On the other hand state police commandos of Imphal West, Imphal East and other districts had also reportedly beefed up security measures to ensure full proof security during the state election scheduled on March 4 and March 8.
Police were deployed at specific junctions in the city to check vehicular movements. During evening time heavy checking were conducted at Paona Keithel, Sanjenthong and North AOC.
