The Government of Manipur has decided to operate special helicopter services between Imphal and Ukhrul in view of the urgent transportation needs of the public, particularly amid the prevailing situation in Ukhrul district.
According to an official release issued by the Transport Department, one special helicopter sortie has been scheduled for Tuesday to operate on the Imphal–Ukhrul–Imphal route. The government is also working on arranging two additional sorties on Wednesday on the same sector. These services will be operated in addition to the regular helicopter schedule.
The release stated that passengers will be required to carry minimal luggage, as the maximum permissible baggage weight in the helicopter is limited per passenger. For information regarding booking procedures and operational schedules, passengers have been advised to contact the Nodal Officer for helicopter services at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Ukhrul.
The government reiterated its commitment to ensuring uninterrupted and accessible transportation services for the people of the state, especially during times of difficulty.
The press release was issued by the Additional Chief Secretary in charge of the Transport Department and circulated to concerned departments and authorities for necessary information and coordination.
