SFs recover huge cache of arms and ammunitions from Imphal East and Churachandpur districts

Imphal, April 4:

Security forces have intensified their efforts in maintaining law and order by conducting extensive search operations and area domination exercises in the peripheral and susceptible regions of both hill and valley districts in Manipur today. During these operations, a significant cache of arms and ammunition was seized.
In one operation conducted in Champhai village, situated in Imphal East District, security personnel recovered a substantial quantity of weaponry. The recovered items included one local-made pistol, one local-made .22 revolver, one Pompi, one tube launcher, two 2″ motor shells, two smoke hand grenades, three detonators of No. 75 MK-2, one Blank Fire Attachment, thirty-one empty cases, two empty magazines of SLR, two 38 mm rubber bullets, four 12-bore cartridges, one walkie-talkie set, and three bulletproof plates.
In a separate operation conducted in E Bungjang Village, Churachandpur District, additional arms and ammunition were recovered. These included one 51 mm mortar, eleven single-barrel country-made guns, one .22 caliber country-made pistol with a magazine, one .32 caliber country-made pistol with a magazine, six live rounds of 51 mm mortar, and eleven live rounds of 9 mm pistol.
The operations were part of the security forces’ proactive measures to enhance security in the fringe and vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts. The meticulous efforts of the security personnel resulted in the successful recovery of arms and ammunition, further bolstering security measures in the region.
Search operations and area domination exercises are ongoing as security forces continue to maintain vigilance and ensure the safety and security of the populace.
