The election campaign for Kachui Timothy Zimik, the NPF candidate, who is supported by the BJP and NPP, took place today in New Canaan, Ukhrul District.
In his address, Zimik expressed his aspiration to represent the constituency in the Lok Sabha and urged voters to support him. Emphasizing his candidacy as a Naga consensus candidate backed by the BJP and NPP under the NDA alliance, he called upon constituents, regardless of their political affiliations, to contribute their votes towards his election.
Zimik highlighted the significance of unity between the valley and hill communities in Manipur, emphasizing the necessity for peaceful coexistence with mutual respect and understanding among all ethnic groups. He reiterated his commitment to addressing social and economic challenges, promising to prioritize the welfare of constituents and ensure good governance upon being elected.
The candidate emphasized the urgent need for peace and development in Manipur, stressing the importance of fostering dialogue and cooperation among communities. He acknowledged historical divisions based on ideology, ethnicity, and politics, vowing to represent the interests of all constituents and advocate for marginalized voices.
Zimik concluded by affirming his dedication to promoting social justice and economic upliftment across the state, advocating for inclusive development that benefits both hill and valley regions. He pledged to serve as a conduit for the grievances and aspirations of the people, striving to be a unifying voice for the diverse populace of Manipur.
The election campaign of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) candidate for the Outer Manipur Constituency witnessed a notable attendance of key party figures and dignitaries. Among those present were the Secretary-General of NPF, Achumbemmo Kikon, representing NPF Central Kohima and serving as an MLA in Nagaland, and Awangbou Newmai, the President of the NPF Manipur State Unit and a Minister in the Government of Manipur.
The event also saw the participation of prominent government officials, including Health and IPR Minister Sapam Ranjan, as well as other Ministers and MLAs affiliated with the NPF, NPP, and BJP. Additionally, civil society organization (CSO) representatives were in attendance, alongside the president of the United Naga Council (UNC).
The convergence of such diverse and influential personalities underscores the significance of the election campaign and highlights the collaborative efforts within the NPF and its allied parties to mobilize support for their candidate in the Outer Manipur Constituency.
