The election campaign for Kachui Timothy Zimik, the NPF candidate, who is supported by the BJP and NPP, took place today in New Canaan, Ukhrul District.
In his address, Zimik expressed his aspiration to represent the constituency in the Lok Sabha and urged voters to support him. Emphasizing his candidacy as a Naga consensus candidate backed by the BJP and NPP under the NDA alliance, he called upon constituents, regardless of their political affiliations, to contribute their votes towards his election.
Zimik highlighted the significance of unity between the valley and hill communities in Manipur, emphasizing the necessity for peaceful coexistence with mutual respect and understanding among all ethnic groups. The election campaign of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) candidate for the Outer Manipur Constituency witnessed a notable attendance of key party figures and dignitaries. Among those present were the Secretary-General of NPF, Achumbemmo Kikon, representing NPF Central Kohima and serving as an MLA in Nagaland, and Awangbou Newmai, the President of the NPF Manipur State Unit and a Minister in the Government of Manipur.
The event also saw the participation of prominent government officials, including Health and IPR Minister Sapam Ranjan, as well as other Ministers and MLAs affiliated with the NPF, NPP, and BJP. Additionally, civil society organization (CSO) representatives were in attendance, alongside the president of the United Naga Council (UNC).
