Seijang villagers warns Sailen villagers to comply with court order

Imphal, Oct 31: Seijang Development Committee warns of serious agitation if authority fails to remove the body of R. Hongprang (Khulakpa of Sailen village) which was buried at the disputed land of Seijang, Uyok Hill by Nov 03.

Addressing a press conference today at Manipur Press Club, Imphal, President, Seijang Progressive Youth Club (SPYC), Heikrujam Tombi said according to an order of the district judge, Manipur, west, people of Saileng village have been restricted to habitat or enter or cut trees from the place called Uyok hill.

However, people of Saileng village have buried the dead body of their Khullakpa at Uyok Hill by trespassing the disputed land without following the court order on Oct 28 of this year. The act had implanted tension among the people of Seijang Village and warned of dire consequences by Tombi Singh.

He further added that the committee had given three days time (by Nov 03) to remove the body from Uyok Hill.
