Security tightens; Congress supporter stage protest against BJP poll campaign

Imphal, Feb 14: Security has been beefed up in and around Angtha Village in Andro Assembly constituency as Congress candidate supporters staged protest against a proposed election meeting of the BJP at the village today.
BJP candidate, Dr. Nimaichand Luwang today begin door to door meeting since morning today at Angtha village. A poll campaign meeting is scheduled at the village at 3 am today. Report said that around 1000 people accompanied the BJP candidate during the door to door campaign.
At the time, when the BJP candidate was conducting house campaign supporters of congress candidate Th. Shyamkumar staged protest against the congress party election meeting.
As the situation seem volatile and had the tendency to erupt poll related clash, police department beefed up security arrangement to in the area to prevent any unwanted incident.
Till the filing of this story there are no report of any clashed between the two group.
