Second Link ART Centre opened at District Hospital Kakching

The second Link Antiretroviral Therapy Centre for Kakching district was inaugurated at District Hospital Kakching today by the Integrated Counselling and Testing Centre of District Health Society Kakching in collaboration with the District AIDS Prevention Control Unit and the Manipur AIDS Control Society.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Kakching, Pangambam Shantikumar, MCS, attended the programme as chief guest, while District Mission Director of District Health Society Kakching and Chief Medical Officer Kakching, Dr Thoudem Rajen, presided over the function. District AIDS Control Officer Thoubal, Dr Bijendra Singh Yengkhom, Deputy Director of the Care, Support and Treatment Division of Manipur AIDS Control Society, Dr Sanasam Jupiter, and Medical Officer In-charge of District Health Society Kakching, Dr Ningthoujam Brojendro, attended as guests of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Bijendra Singh Yengkhom stated that the new facility would spare patients from Kakching district the need to travel to District Hospital Thoubal to access medicines. Dr Thoudem Rajen said that while a Link ART Centre already exists at Sugnu, residents in and around Kakching would now be able to receive medicines and services closer to home.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Pangambam Shantikumar described the opening of the Link ART Centre at District Hospital Kakching as a collective achievement.
