SEACO greets people on Cheiraoba

Imphal, March 27: South East Asia Cultural Organisation (SEACO) greets the people of the state on occasion of the Sajibu Nongma Panba Cheiraoba, the traditional new year day of Manipuri people.
The organization working in the field of reviving and restoring the culture of the region while wishing the people also appealed not to mix the rich cultural tradition with outsiders influence.
The organization said that mixing the traditional Cheiraoba with Charak Puja will make the region’s rich culture a mockery to the outsider and instead of letting our culture falls it is time them we the people of the region united and celebrate the traditional Chieraoba on March 29. The organization also narrated on how the cheiraoba began to be celebrated by the people of the region.
