Screening not fair, says dancers

Dancers who had participated at the screening of 10th Bhagyachandra National Dance Festival condemned the audition norm and appeals to re screen the whole audition.Speaking with media persons today at Manipur Press Club, one of the participants, Laishram Shanti Meitei said that the audition which was held on Sep 18 at Chandrakiti auditorium, Palace Compound to participate in the upcoming Bhagyachandra National Dance Festival was not conducted in fair manner. He said that only five dancers have been selected for the festival out of them one is a jury members’ wife. He asked if the jury and its family members can participate together in any auditions. He added that the questions asked by the judges are quite demoralizing to the candidates. He further said that he did not get chance to even perform completely for five minutes. Konjengbam Monica, Elizabeth Thiyam, Takhellambam Piyainu, Yambem Malemnganbi and RK Muktasana were also present in the press meet.
