Chief Minister Okram Ibobi today said that the condition of historic Sati Khongnang is deteriorating day by day. Sati Khongnang is a banyan tree grow somewhere at Mayang Imphal Sapam Leikai is a symbol of Manipuri wife’s dedications and love for their husband. MLA Kh. Joykishan today reminded the house about the existence of the Sati Khongnang and asked the Chief Minister about its condition. He also asked the CM if there is any plan of the government to protect the site. Replying the answer CM said that Historic tree Sati Khongnang is deteriorating day by day and and government is considering for protection of the tree. Surprisingly the CM did not know where the Sati Khongnang is located. When the Chief Minister gave reply to the supplementary question of MLA Joykishan the Chief Minister said that Joykishan could also take up some protective measures from his local area fund.
