Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh who is also the leader of the house today moved the Manipur Protection of Interests of Depositors (in Financial Establishments) Bill, 2014 for consideration by the house. Moving the bill Chief Minister said that various financial fraudulence incidents has been reported many a time due to lack of proper protection for the depositors. The Chief Minister was referring to the various cases where peoples were cheated by company in the name of returning them good financial profit.
On the other hand Education Minister M Okendro also moved the Sangai National University, Manipur Bill, 2014 and Dhanamajuri University, Manipur Bill 2014 for consideration of house. However, the Education Minister withdrew the Dhanamanjuri University Bill,2014 after moving it.
