Imphal, June 10: The state government have deceived the people of Manipur, and their disregard for the people’s movement for implementation of Inner Line Permit System in the state has been demonstrated when the communiqué from the President of India’s office sent on May 11 declining the granting of assent for the Bill drawn up to protect the people of Manipur was kept hushed up in view of the IMC election which followed on June 3, alleged a press release of the proscribed group Maoist Communist Party, Manipur. The release further accused the ruling Congress I of being Anti-Meitei as the community is being singled out and atrocities committed for a long time. The release concluded with an appeal to the people of the state to discard the differences in opinion and unite to fight and overthrow the present ruling Congress I.
