RPF claims attack to AR troops

Proscribed group RPF today claimed attacked to troops of 44 AR in between Asang Khulen and Makan Village in Ukhrul district at around 12:40 pm of June 1. In a press statement of the outfit, signed by Roben Khuman , Secretary Publicity, RPF, the outfit said that the attacked was conducted by the tactical command group of its army wing PLA. It said some were killed and some injured in the attack. The statement further added that the PLA trooper waited for ambush of the AR troop as they received news about frequent harassment of the people of the area by the AR team. It said the AR troops came along with Manipur Police and Manipur Rifles who were on ADC election duty, but they did not strike at them considering them as not the enemy. The attack was done under the supervision of the Chief of Army staff, the statement further added.
