In a tragic accident between Maruti 800 and diesel auto near Taothong Lamkhai, 10 people including 2 girls have been badly injured today at around 1pm.
Diver of the diesel auto r/c MN01F3844, Kojenbam Rojit Kumar (28) s/o Kojenbam Tomba of Phumlou said that the Maruti 800 hit his auto when he was coming from Imphal to Phumlou carrying the passengers where all the passengers sustained injuries.
Eye witness said the driver of maruti 800 seems to be in alcoholic state. Taking the chance of the locals attending the injured passengers, the drivers manage to escape the scene.
The injured passengers have been admitted at RIMS casualty ward. Among the injured passengers 2 girls studying in 7 and 11 standard also sustained injuries.
Rojit suffered injury on his forehead and left arm while some of the passengers suffer major injuries.
A case has been registered by the Lamsang Police Station.
The driver of the Maruti 800 is absconding while the vehicle has been picked up by police.
