The Department of Psychiatry, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal observed “31st World Mental Health Day” on the theme “Mental health is a universal human right” today at General OPD Block, RIMS Hospital, Imphal.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. G. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director RIMS, Imphal shares tips on mental health with patient parties and the public. He also stated that a large number of people in the world suffers from mental disorder and psychiatrist plays a huge role in dealing with mental health issues. Good mental health is vital to our overall health and well-being. Mental health conditions are also affecting adolescents and young people.
Further, he also advised the public to consult doctors at the earliest and not to feel shy about sharing problems with friends and relatives. We need to unite and work hard to support and safeguard the mental health of all to make a better mentally and physically healthy society.
Lastly, Director RIMS, Imphal appealed to students to actively participate in delivering knowledge on how service to mankind will assist mental health concerns in our society.
