Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Director Prof A Santa Singh has been honoured with an award for exemplary performance in the State under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) on the occasion of 75th Indian Independence Day in recognition of his active role in fighting Covid-19 pandemic since March 2020 till now.
Notably, Prof Santa is credited with bringing in notable changes in RIMS which is on the verge of elevating to the status of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). Under his leadership, RIMS had fetched 38th position in the National Institutional Ranking Framework of Human Resource Development (NIRF) ranking 2019-20, released by the Ministry of Education.
RIMS, is the only medical college in the entire Northeast and West Bengal to figure amongst the top 40 medical institutions and universities of the country.
