The Rhythms of Manipur in it’s continuing programme on lecturer Demonstration on music at educational institutions today conducted folk music demonstration at Promising Academy, Sagolband Tera Loukham Leirak, Imphal West.
During the demonstration programme the Rhythms of Manipur musicians displayed national award winning music composition Dancing Drummers and State Song Sanaleibak Manipur.The programme starts with the introduction about the Group and about the objective of the initiative by Rajkumar Sanatomba Singh founder member and Secretary of the group.
After the demonstration the students and some of the teachers of the Academy played the Langden drums and others musical instruments.
It may be noted here that the Rhythms of Manipur conducted such lecturer demonstration programmes at various institutions for the last many years latest held at Jovial Bellona English School,Irom Meijrao and SV Getwell School,Haotal in November 2024.
The group established in the year 1985 besides performances at home and abroad performed together with the musicians of Japan and Trinidad at Imphal and Trinidad respectively. Since 2013 successfully toured and performed at Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Laos, Port of Spain, Bangkok, Surin and latest at Ho Chi Minth City , Vietnam during August 2024.
The Chairman of the Promising Academy Ratankumar thanks the Rhythms of Manipur for their initiative towards music awareness programmes at schools and expressed their desire to host the group again at the Academy.
