Ex-servicemen Saikhom Rocket Singh, Father of Late Saikhom Subol who was killed while defending Kadangband village against armed Kuki narco-terrorists on July 10 stated that the bullet which killed his son was issued to Assam Rifles and questioned under whose orders the AR personnel fired on the village defence volunteers.
Speaking to media persons on the way to performing the last rites of his slain son, the bereaved father said that he is happy that his son attained martyrdom fighting for the state and its people but sad that he was shot by the AR and not Kuki militants he was fighting , and also requested the central and state government to remove AR from the state and the North east before the already enraged people lost their patience and started agitations and demanding independence from India if no other option is left to them and the authorities do not resolve the present crisis immediately.
