Regarding report on Khongman Street Lamp and Tap Water

IT News
Imphal, Aug 23:

Following the publication of a news report titled “Khongman locals urge for street lamp and tap water” in the August 23 edition of Imphal Times, our reporter conducted a field visit to Khongman Zones 1 to 4 today. Upon speaking with local residents, it was clarified that the street lamps in the area had been functional for a considerable period but stopped working recently due to unspecified reasons.
According to officials from the Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL), the street lamps were installed by a private company, and the ongoing crisis has delayed the arrival of the company’s experts who are responsible for repairs. However, under the directives of the local MLAs, MSPDCL is making every effort to restore the street lamps as soon as possible.
In regards to the supply of tap water, most households in Khongman Zones 4 and 5 have already been connected under the government’s Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). A source from the Water Resources Department stated that the connection and essential water supply to the remaining houses would be completed shortly, provided there are no further delays in development work.
Imphal Times regrets the publication of a one-sided report yesterday that was issued without conducting a ground visit or consulting the relevant departments.
