Record hike in fuel prices in metro cities

With prices of crude oil showing a firm trend and the rupee moving lower against the dollar, the petrol prices continued to rise in Mumbai and other metro cities and the price was Rs.94.64 in Mumbai on Friday.
The rising graph of petrol prices in Mumbai in the last few days was: Feb 11, 2021- Rs. 94.36, Feb 10- Rs.94.12, Feb 9- Rs.93.83, Feb 8- Rs. 93.49, Feb 7- Rs. 93.49, Rs. Feb 6- Rs.93.49, Feb 5- Rs. 93.49, Feb 4-Rs. 93.20, Feb 3-Rs.92.86, Feb 2-Rs.92.86.
The petrol price in Delhi was Rs 88.14, while the prices in Hyderabad remained at Rs 91.85. In Chennai the petrol price was Rs 90.45.
The petroleum prices on Friday were as: Hyderabad-petrol price per litre-Rs. 91.65, Diesel-Rs. 85.50 per litre, Delhi- petrol price per litre-Rs. 88.14, Diesel-Rs. 78.38,Chennai-petrol-Rs.90.45 .50 per litre, Diesel-Rs.83.52 per litre and Mumbai-petrol-Rs.94.64 per litre, diesel-Rs.85.32 per litre.
The petrol attracts state and central taxes. Besides for diesel, the central excise adds up to Rs 31.83 and VAT to Rs 10.99. Also, the price also includes a dealer commission of a minimum Rs 2.6 per litre on petrol and Rs 2 on diesel. Petrol and diesel prices are revised on a daily basis in line with benchmark international price and foreign exchange rates.
