The 6th death anniversary of Thokchom Rabina and Chungkham Sanjit was observed today at Lamyanba Sanglen.
The observance function was jointly organised by Join Action Committee against the brutal killing of Thokchom Rabina and Chungkham Sanjit and Working Committee of the Apunba Lup.
It may be mentioned that both Thokchom Rabina and Ch. Sanjit were killed in fact encounter at BT Road at Khwairamband Keithel on this day in 2009. There was a mass uprising against the killing the a judicial enquiry has also been conducted by the state government. The killing of Sanjit was reported as fact encounter by a national based newspaper the Tehelka.
The observance was attendance by Ayekpam Langdon Leima Coordinator of Apunba Lup, Phulindro Konsam Coordinator of Apunba Lup, Sunil Karam Coordinator of Apunba Lup, and L. Memchoubi president of Poirei Leimarol, Ph. Sakhi President of AMKIL, and Y.Lairik Leima president of Kangla Mei, as presidium members.
Leaders from different civil society organizations also attended the observance and paid floral tribute to the mortal remains of Thokchom Rabina and Chungkham Sanjit.
