Pulse polio immunisation programme

Imphal, April 6: Nonei Battalion under aegis of Loktak Brigade organised an Pulse Polio Immunisation programme at Village Nonei.  The camp was conducted in collaboration with Noney Primary Health Centre.  Large numbers of children under 5 years were administered with Polio drops.  The unit medical officer educated the villagers of the importance of vaccination on the occasion.  This unique welfare measure taken by 8 Assam Rifles has indeed done a great help to the people of this area and has been highly appreciated by the locals of Nonei Area.  Such a camp in a remote area will go a long way in building confidence amongst the people.  The medical officer ensured the local populace that the unit will continue to work for the development of the region in future too.
