Haobijam Resson age 17, s/o Haobijam Mani of Khurai Konsam Leikai, who suffered multiple injuries on July 10, 2015 during a police crackdown against pro-ILP agitators, will have to undergo treatment at Ganga Hospital, Tamil Nadu. Haobijam Mani, speaking to the media, appealed for donation to meet medical expenses for his injured son. Resson was referred to Shija Hospital after initial treatment at RIMS Hospital for just 24 days, where he was admitted on August 10 night with injuries sustained with rubber bullet and teargas fired by police on the agitators. JCILPS Joint Students’ Coordination Committee were looking after his condition while receiving treatment at RIMS, but discontinued once he was shifted to Shija hospital, Langol. Despite some improvement in his condition, doctors at Shija Hospital advised that it would be better if Resson seeks treatment at Ganga hospital, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu on account of complications of the patient’s nerve tissues of his right arm and little finger. Resson was scheduled to leave Imphal on September 4 but could not do so due to financial problems. As treatment in Ganga Hospital, Tamil Nadu will entail additional expenditures, he appealed to the concern authorities, different organizations, clubs and the people of Manipur to look into this matter so that his son could get through the treatment as soon as possible. JCILPS Joint Students Coordination Committee was not present during the media briefing.
