Public curfew imposed at Moidangpok ground

Meitei Youth front, South East Asia, International Meitei Forum and local clubs of Moidangpok area has imposed public curfew at Moidangpok grazing field and it’s surrounding from tomorrow morning indefinitely. In a press meet held at Manipur Press Club today afternoon the representatives of the MYFSEA, IMF and local clubs of Moidangpok area said that some people had encroached the grazing field and started claiming the ground to be theirs. A spokesperson said that the people had been given refuge at the nearby area during the early 90s at the backdrop of the Kuki-Naga ethnic clashed. He said the grazing field belongs to the people of Moidangpok from time immemorial and the people will not stand quite to any attempt of encroaching the land. The spokesperson further blamed IFCD Minister Ngamthang Haokip for inciting communal feeling among the various community of the area.
