Locals of Sangaiyumpham area today protested the killing of a VDF personnel by unidentified men at Wangjing Wangkhei Leikai Laikhuram Leirak yesterday evening demanding appropriate punishment of the culprits involved in the killing.A JAC has been formed after convening a public meeting at Sangaiyumpham Idiga Ground and has prepared to launch series of agitations by not accepting the dead body.The deceased VDF personnel, identified as MD. Ahamatullha @ Abocha (28) son of Md. Enayatullah of Sangaiyumpham Part-1 Nungphou was reportedly pulled up by some unknown persons from Wangjing Bazaar at around 7 pm of Wednesday evening. He was beaten to death by the unknown persons and left at Wangjing Wangkhei Leikai Laikhuram Leirak. The unknown persons reportedly blamed the VDF as a cycle lifter while pulling him up from Wangjing Bazar.The dead body has been picked up by a team of Thoubal Police and later deposited at RIMS orgue.During the meeting held at Idiga ground Sangaiyumpham today morning local MLA Okram Ongbi Landhoni visited the family members of the deceased VDF.The JAC formed against the killing of the VDF later staged a rally and submitted a memorandum to the SP Thoubal demanding punishment of the culprits involved in the killing.
