Imphal, Nov 22:
The People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Progressive) PREPAK (Pro) has stated that it had executed capital punishment on Saikhom Santikumar, alias Tinsuba Singh, aged 23, for alleged violations of party rules and misconduct. Santikumar, the son of S. Sanayaima Singh and S. (O) Pramo Devi from Heirok Part 2 Bazar Maning, faced the punishment following multiple infractions, the outfit stated in a press release.
According to the statement, the incident began on June 22, 2024, while Santikumar was on duty in Base Area 1. He allegedly entered a house and attempted to exploit a newly married woman. The situation came to light when the woman raised an alarm. Fearing repercussions, Santikumar fled the party base with an issued weapon around 3:30 AM.
PREPAK (Pro) deployed cadres to track him down, with some reportedly losing their lives in the process. After two days, Santikumar was apprehended and subjected to minor punishment despite the severity of his actions, citing humanitarian considerations. However, while in custody, he escaped again, this time stealing a mobile phone, money, and a weapon from another cadre.
Following a renewed search, he was located at his home and detained on November 9, 2024. After thorough interrogation and deliberation, PREPAK (Pro) concluded that capital punishment was warranted, citing his repeated violations and disregard for party discipline.
The outfit emphasized that its decision was made after careful consideration and adherence to party principles.
