Imphal, Oct 9:
The proscribed People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) marked its 47th Foundation Day with celebrations held across various locations in the state and abroad, emphasizing the need for unity among the people of Kangleipak. The events were attended by numerous members of the organization, highlighting a collective commitment to the party’s goals.
In a statement from Mangal Khuman, Publicity Officer of the Department of Publicity & Propaganda, it was noted that the Chairman of the Interim Council, Aheiba Angom, delivered a significant speech at the Central Headquarters (CHQ). He urged participants to unite for their cause and emphasized the importance of collaboration with both print and electronic media to effectively disseminate their message. The role of the media in promoting the party’s ideals was underscored as essential for spreading their narrative widely.
The celebrations were organized by several units, including the Central Headquarters, General Headquarters, 707 Mobile Battalion, and various base areas. The event served to reinforce the party’s commitment to its objectives and foster solidarity among its members.
In his address, Aheiba Angom highlighted the spirit of unity among the people of Kangleipak as crucial in their struggle against the dominance of Hindustan. He called for resilience and solidarity to navigate the ongoing challenges and asserted the need for youth engagement in the movement.
Moreover, the Chairman stressed the importance of preserving Kangleipak’s cultural identity and values, urging participants to remain steadfast in their commitment to the cause. He concluded with a hopeful vision for the future, emphasizing that their struggle is not only for the present but for future generations.
Aheiba also spoke about the significance of peace in the region, stating, “The essence of peace is the foundation upon which we must build our future.” He noted that ongoing conflicts hinder the potential of the youth and emphasized the necessity for active participation from all segments of society in fostering peace and unity.
Referencing the historical context surrounding May 3, he questioned the effectiveness of India’s Peace Keeping Forces in maintaining stability amidst ongoing tensions. He urged the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to take a more active role in ensuring peace in Kangleipak.
The celebration included a Revolutionary Gun Salute to honor the resilience and sacrifices of the Kangleipak people. Romi Meitei, Chief of Army Staff (CAS) of the Red Army, along with other leaders, participated in the event, emphasizing the commitment to Kangleipak’s aspirations amid complex geopolitical challenges.
Additionally, the gathering acknowledged the contributions of Yung Aung, Chairman of NSCN/GPRN, and Langamba, Base Area Secretary of the Red Army, who highlighted the importance of solidarity among factions working toward peace and stability in the region.
The celebrations also included outreach efforts addressing the plight of vulnerable groups affected by the ongoing ethnic conflict. District commanders from Ching and Tampak organized support for relief camps in Ahal-lamal, Ima-Ibel, Echil-Enao, and Eche-Echal, providing essential supplies to aid those in need.
Through this event, PREPAK reiterated its mission to advocate for peace and solidarity, calling upon its members to remain steadfast in their resolve for a better future for Kangleipak.
