The 10th Mega Marathon 2016 was held today at Imphal under the supervision of the Manipur Athletic Association. The Mega Marathon organised by United Peoples’ Front was participated by over 500 women athletes and 1900 men athletes.
Defending Champion S Premila of Yairipok of Thoubal district once more lifted the winner tittle of the 10th Mega Marathon 2016 in women’s category.
Shankar Maan Thapa of Assam, lift the winner title in Men’s category.
S Premila lifted the title by completing the race in 1 hour 27 mins 5 sec while Shankar Maan Thapa completed the race in 1 hr 5 min 29 sec.
Meanwhile, Sajiv Luwang and Md Amir Khan both from Yairipok have managed to clinch second and third positions respectively in the Mega Marathon Race.
The Mega Marathon was flagged off by Olympian Kshetrimayum Thoiba from Khuman Lampak here at 7 am. The race passed most of the important roads and streets of Imphal city and converge at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.
Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly, Th Lokeshwor distributed prizes to the winners in a function held at Khuman Lampak Main stadium.
