
State police today raided a hide-out of the proscribed United Revolutionary Front (URF) at Old Leizang village in Senapati district and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunitions besides arrested 4 cadres of the outfit early today morning.
According to report reaching here, a team of Imphal West Police under the supervision of Additional SP (Ops) Th. Bikramjit today conducted a search operation in the area after getting specific information about the presence of the underground cadres since 2.30 am today morning. Inspector of Imphal West CDO Unit Potsangbam Sanjoy and Additional SP of Kangpokpi Police and troops of 25 AR were also present during the search operation.
As soon as the security troop reach the hide out of the URF, some of the cadres fled the however, 4 of the cadres were arrested. Innitial report said that the security troop recovers one M-16 rifle and 2 AK-56 rifles along with magazines. The security troop continues the operation till late hours today.Â
Identities of those arrested in the operation could not be known at the time of filing this report.
