The alleged rapist and murderer of the 18 years old girl from Wangbal area in Thoubal district was arrested today afternoon by a team of Sugunu Police. The alleged rapist and murderer arrested today has been identified as Thiyam Suresh Kumar (20) son of Th. Ingocha of Wangbal Heiruthong Leikai in Thoubal district. The person who is also a cousin brother of the deceased girl allegedly raped and murdered her yesterday evening. The family member found the dead body of the girl lying at the bed of the accused.Wrath over the incident the locals search for the whereabouts of the alleged rapist but found absconded. The mob than vandalized the house of the rapist.Early today morning, locals of Wangbal area came out at Imphal-Moreh road at Khangbok area and stop all sort of traffic along the route. Report said the locals vandalized some of the vehicles passing along the route. Later, at evening the local meira paibis of wangbal area staged a sit-in-protest at Wangbal demanding punishment of the culprit involved.Mentioned may be made that, this is the second kind of heinous crime committed towardsgrils of the state during this week. Earlier on November 5, a eight years old girl was found raped and murdered by a person who stayed at her locality. Police had arrested the person but no charge sheet has been frame against him as of now.
