National General Secretary of the BJP, Shyam Jaju today pinched the Okram Ibobi led Congress government in the state saying that it would take the whole day if the misdeed and the misappropriation are spell out. Speaking during launching function of the massive membership drive of the BJP at its party office at Nityapat Chuthek Imphal, Shyam Jaju said that the credibility and the accountability of the government cannot be judge until competitors comes up to show the differences. Shyam Jaju was referring to the changes brought by the BJP led government at the Center under the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that when no competitors come up, the party sometime plays monopoly and common people were put to ignorance about their basic rights. Recalling those days when the BJP was not the choice of the people Shyam Jaju said that there is no reason for frustration if the party is not elected in election. He said people will slowly learn the activities of the BJP and finally it will become the choice of the people.
The BJP national secretary also highlighted the various welfare schemes taken up by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the short span. He also said that the BJP led government at the center does not differentiate in treatment to the state government whether it may be ruled by another political parties.
The massive membership drive began on November 1 for the country and it is launched today for the state of Manipur. The membership drive will continue till March 31, 2015. When asked to the state unit BJP, the party at present has around 25,000 enrolled members. The BJP Manipur Pradesh is targeting one lakh primary membership.
“Enrolment procedure is simple, just give a miss call at 18002662020 and then submit your name and address as according to the message forwarded to you”, said Shyam Jaju.
S. Premananda, who is also the state general secretary organization in his key note address said that BJP got around 17.16 crore vote in the recently held Lok Shabha Election which means that a total of 31% votes in favour of the party. However the party has around 3.25 crore primary memberships which means around 10 crore people who support the party still did not joined the party due to various reasons.
S Premananda said that the massive enrolment drive will make easy for anybody who wanted to join the party.
President of the BJP Manipur Pradesh Thounoajam Chaoba, Professor Gangumei Kamei, Meinam Bhorot, C Doungel, O Malesh and other leaders and workers of the BJP Manipur Pradesh were present on the occasion.
