Police foils attempt to disrupt Union Minister inspection visit at Yaithibi Loukol

A strong team of Thoubal Police today foiled attempt to disrupt the inspection visit of the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Youth Affairs and Sports, Vijay Goel at 44-Yaithibi Loukol in Thoubal district for establishment of National Sports University today morning.
Report said that a group of people today organized a mass rally at Sora area at around 9 am today morning, minutes before the visit of the Union Minister along with the Chief Minister of Manipur at yaithibi Loukol in Thoubal district. However, the protest rally was stopped by a strong team of Thoubal police near Sora. The protestors confronted the police team prompting them to fire rounds of tear gas shells. The protestors too attack the police using slingshot. A rifleman was reported hit by a slingshot. The police team then drives out the protestors till Sora. Even as police claimed no injury to the side of the protestors, protestor claimed two youths injured in the police action. 
A photo uploaded in the social networking site facebook showed phot of two youths injured in the police strike. Most people are reported to be from Sora area in Kakching Assembly Constituency of Thoubal district.
Earlier Deputy Commissioner of the Thoubal District had submitted report to the government of Manipur regarding the settlement of the disputed portion of land at Yaithibi Loukol with the land owner through direct purchase of land at the rate of Rs 6 lakh per Acre. The report to the government also stated that all proceedure for aquisition on direct purchase has been completed.
