PM Modi to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for Multiple Development Projects in Manipur amid ongoing crisis

Amidst the prolonged crisis nearing ten month in Manipur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to lay the foundation stones for multiple development projects worth Rs. 3,500 Crore and inaugurate four completed projects in the state. The Prime Minister will conduct the ceremony remotely from Itanagar via video conferencing at the City Convention in Imphal East district.
According to government sources, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stones for various initiatives, including the Unity Mall, Infrastructure Development of Maternity and Child Hospital, Infrastructure Development of Manipur Technical University, Construction of a 60-bed State Mental Hospital, Infrastructure Development of Processing Zone of IT SEZ, Football Grounds with natural grass in seven locations, School Infrastructure Development, two road projects under NESIDS, two National Highway projects (Imphal-Jiribam; Ukhrul-Taloi-Tadubi), and four Bridges under Setu Bandhan. Additionally, four projects will be inaugurated, including two roads under CRIF, Water Supply Schemes under Jal Jeevan Mission, Craft Handloom Village at Moirang, and four National Highways projects (Imphal-Moreh; Tamenglong Khongsang; Marem-Paren; Churachandpur – Tuivai).
Prime Minister Modi, who is currently touring Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, will visit Kaziranga National Park tomorrow morning and later participate in the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit North East’ program in Itanagar at 10:30 AM. During this event, he will dedicate the Sela Tunnel to the nation and launch the UNNATI scheme worth about Rs 10,000 crore. Additionally, multiple development projects worth about Rs 55,600 crore will be inaugurated, dedicated, and have foundation stones laid in Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh, out of which projects worth Rs. 3,500 Crore will be specifically for Manipur.
Later in the day, the Prime Minister will travel to Jorhat, where he will unveil a magnificent statue of renowned Ahom general Lachit Borphukan and participate in a public program, inaugurating, dedicating, and laying the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth more than Rs 17,500 Crore in Assam.
