Imphal, May 18:
Wives of Atom Samarendra and Yumkhaibam Kiran Kumar who have been missing since May 6 from Sangaithel area in Kangpokpi district have plead the government of Manipur to help them finding their husband.
Speaking to reporters at Manipur Press Club here in Imphal Atom Kavita wife of Atom Samarendra said that even after 13 days the concern government authority could not find the whereabouts of my husband and his company Yumkhaibam Kiran Kumar. Missing Atom Samarendra and his friend Yumkhaibam Kirankumar, a resident of Khumbong Bazar and Khumbong Mayai Leikai, went out from their respective home at 11 am of May 6. Family members said that at around 2.30 pm they informed their family through cell phone that they have reached Iroishemba. And they were last heard near Sangaithel Olympic Park. They have been missing since then.
Kavita further said that her husband always wanted to help other and he as the Secretary of Imphal West Students’ Club, Khumbong had always been associating with social work. Yumkhaibam Basanti Devi, wife of Yumkhaibam Kirankumar also urged the government of Manipur to help them find their missing husbands. She expressed her resentment over the negligence on the part of the government to find their husbands. Family members of Atom Samarendra and Y. Kirankumar were also present during the meeting with the media persons. Meanwhile, Khelen Thokchom Trust (KTT), Manipur also appealed the government of Manipur to find the whereabouts of Atom Samarendra who is also a member of the KTT and his friend Y. Kirankumar.
