Oinam Romen Singh, the Intending Candidate of Singjamei Assembly Constituency in the National People’s Party (NPP) ticket in the upcoming State General Assembly Election 2022 said that the NPP which believes in positive politics wants to woo the voters in a very systematic way. It does not want violence in any form of campaigning.
Briefing Media persons during the House to House Campaign at Singjamei Sougrakpam Leikai, Leshangthem Leikai and Sapam Leikai in Ward no. 17 with a large number of his supporters this morning, Romen Said that violence cannot win the hearts of the electors as all the electors of the Constituency are all intellectuals. They can be wooed only when the activities of the Candidate initiated is genuine and honesty. People actually know what kind of Candidate should be chosen as the representative of Singjamei, Romen asserted.
Romen Singh further said that the people of the Constituency have been marred due to the wrong act of the present representative giving instance of the Disqualification Case of MLAs. He said that the verdict of the Supreme Court given regarding the three disqualified INC MLAs to restore representing the electorate in the House of the Manipur Legislative Assembly is mostly Welcome.
He said that the Order of the disqualification passed by the Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly has been set aside. The decision of the Speaker disqualifying the three MLAs is quite a wrong decision and as such the Supreme Court gave its verdict to restore their electorate representation in the house. It indicates that the Speaker without much thinking performed his duty obeying the instinct of other Legislators not thinking whether it was right or wrong. He could not take his own decision and also acted on others’ advice. His inferiority for the reputed post is quite natural, Romen Singh ridiculed.
Romen Singh opined that the people of Singjamei Assembly Constituency are racked of electing an indecision representative. The ethics of the people of the Constituency have been marred with such kind of representative and will remain ashamed in the long run if he gets elected again. He appealed to the people of Singjamei not to elect such deceitful Candidate. So, it is the right time for the people to take decision to cast their franchise to the right Candidate.
Romen Singh said that there is some rumours that a gang party try to lie down flags and posters of different political parties in Singjamei Assembly Constituency. Who initiates such kind of gang party, asked Romen Singh. He said that the Name plate of NPP Singjamei Block had been blackened some time back when the Block Office was yet to inaugurate the day after. Whether this was done by the said gang party, if seen in the video footage, what kind of action has been taken as of now, he asked.
He further said that he will extend his full co-operation to book the culprits as and required. If found, it will be best for all. Until and unless the culprit is booked, no responsibility will be fixed. Any political party should not be worked in disguise in this regard. He appealed to disclose only when there is fact. If not, any one should not act as predator, Romen Singh contended.
