Peace cyclist Malem Thongam to visit Churachandpur on March 17

Peace cyclist and social activist Malem Thongam, who began a solo cycling expedition under the theme “Cycling for Peace in Manipur,” is scheduled to visit Churachandpur on March 17 as part of his mission to spread the message of peace across all 16 districts of the state.
The peace ride was flagged off on March 12 from Lamangdong Keithel in Bishnupur district with the objective of delivering a message of unity and harmony to the people of Manipur.
Malem Thongam has currently reached Pallen in Kakching district, where he halted for the day. During his stay, he interacted with members of various communities in the area and carried out a peace campaign, sharing his message of communal harmony and coexistence.
He is expected to leave Pallen on March 15 and proceed to Chandel district. Upon reaching there, he will again halt for the night and continue his peace campaign by meeting people from different communities and organisations.
According to the schedule, Malem Thongam will depart from Chandel district on the morning of March 17 and will cycle to Churachandpur on the same day.
In connection with his arrival, several civil society organisations based in Churachandpur have been requested to extend support and encouragement when he reaches the district. The organisations have also been appealed to assist in ensuring that the peace ride successfully covers all 16 districts of the state without any hindrance.
Appeals have also been made to the concerned authorities of the state to extend necessary cooperation to facilitate the successful completion of the Peace Solo Ride Expeditiong and the Home Minister of the state.
