Patient party vandalise Raj Medicity over the death of a patient

Irate mob vandalised hospital properties after a patient died in gallbladder surgery at Raj Medicity Hospital.The patient, identified as Toijam Manhiar Singh (59), s/o. T. (Late) Nipamacha Singh of Thambalkhong Sabal Leikai was admitted to Raj Medicity Hospital, Imphal for gallbladder key hole surgery on Monday morning. After the surgery, today morning at around 08.30 am, Manihar passed away and the cause of the death will be known when the post-mortem report arrives, said the MS, Raj Medicity, Dr. Haobijam Nabakishore. Angry patient party thronged in to the hospital and vandalised some electronic equipments including laptops, computers of the MD, the window glasses and other stuffs at around 10.00 am today. One of the patient identified as Yumnam Budhi who is paralysis patient got injured in the act.Addressing reporters, Nabakishore further said such incident is an act of vandalism and it will create a fear phobia which might hamper development in hospital industries of the state. Hence a civilised platform needs to be created to bring transparency between the patient party and the Hospital party and provide justice.
