Parakram Diwas 2026 observed at JNV Umathel

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Umathel, Kakching observed Parakram Diwas 2026 on its campus today in connection with the 129th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. The programme was held at the school assembly ground with the participation of students, teachers and invited guests.
Assistant Commandant of the 46th Assam Rifles, Waikhong Post, Tripati Nath Trivedi attended the function as chief guest. Addressing the students, he said that Parakram Diwas serves as a reminder of courage, discipline and sacrifice, and urged students to inculcate a sense of patriotism, set clear goals in life and work with dedication to become responsible citizens of the country.
Principal of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Umathel, Atom Kiran Kumar, said that it was a matter of pride for the people of Manipur that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose had hoisted the national tricolour for the first time at Moirang.
Officer in Charge of Waikhong Police Station, Dr Jotin Okram, who also attended the programme, advised students to make effective use of their time, remain focused on their studies and develop good character to contribute positively to society in the future.
As part of the observance, a written quiz competition was conducted for students of classes 9 to 12 under the Zonal Education Office Kakching. Students from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Umathel and other schools in the district took part in the competition, which was organised on the theme of Operation Sindoor in connection with the 9th edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha.
More than 100 students from various schools across Kakching district participated in the quiz competition.
