Ukhrul, March 11:
Tension escalated along the Ukhrul–Imphal route after reports emerged that over 20 innocent Tangkhul Naga civilians were allegedly detained by Kuki groups at Shangkai on Wednesday. Sources confirmed that at least three vehicles, including a Ukhrul–Imphal bound Winger passenger vehicle, were stopped during the incident.
While the exact number of civilians being held remains unverified, preliminary information suggests that more than 20 individuals may have been detained. Notably, the incident reportedly occurred in the presence of Central Security Forces.
Meanwhile, continuous gunfire has been reported from the Mahadev area, raising serious concerns over the safety and security of innocent Tangkhul Naga civilians.
