Imphal, July 8:
An organization called Thawai Mirel today has strongly criticized the government of Manipur over its decision to open the schools stating that the intention behind the opening of schools is nothing but to suppress the Meira Paibi movement in the state at this crucial juncture.
Talking to media persons at Manipur Press Club, Thongam Dara Singh, Convenor of the organization Thawai Mirel said that Meira Paibis in the state has been taking important role for protection of the Manipuri people and the territorial integrity of the state round the clock. If the schools are opened, the Meira Paibi Lups which are between the age of 25 to 35 years will be kept occupied while looking after their children for attending to schools, Dara said and adding that the resistance by the Meira Paibi will be automatically suppressed. He further said that the decision for opening the schools are not for the love of the students but for serving their agenda.

He said that it is not only the responsibility of those guarding the villages and those living at the periphery areas in protecting the state of Manipur but also it is the duty of all people of the state.
